Home Care FAQs

Your Care is tailored around your needs and routine wherever possible. We always strive to provide your care visit at a time that suits you, however, factors such as visit length, and medications which rely on a specific frequency or time to be administered (such as antibiotics, pain relief, blood thinners) may influence the time at which we need to visit.

Our Home Care visits start from 7am with the last visit finishing at 10pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our visits can be as often and for any length of time you require, starting from as little as half an hour.

We understand that continuity of care is important, helping to build trust and meaningful relationships. We aim to provide a consistent team of carers who get to know you, your preferences, and the way you like things done. Rotas are sent on a weekly basis so you can see who will be visiting. In the event of staff holiday, or sickness, our office teams will communicate any changes with you as soon as possible, so that you will always know who will be visiting you in your home.

Simply call your nearest Candlelight branch or fill in the website contact form and we will call you. We will be happy to answer any immediate questions and tell you more about the ways we can help. If you are happy with what you hear, the next step will be to arrange for one of our Team to visit you in your own home.  This visit is often called an initial assessment. It does not put you under any obligation to buy services from us.

Depending on your individual circumstances and the type of support required, your care service can start very quickly once the initial assessment has been completed.  We will agree a care plan with you and ask you to sign a client agreement. Once this is done, we can allocate suitable staff to you and your service can begin (usually within 24 to 48 hours). Where a rapid response is required, give us a call, as we may be able to provide support the same day.

The first thing to do is contact us, the more information you can give us, the better we can guide you to the most appropriate care services. Our team of highly trained staff are here to help. It does not put you under any obligation to buy services from us.

We are a multi-award winning, CQC regulated, trusted and approved Care provider with over 38 years of experience providing high quality care to people in their own homes. We work collaboratively alongside the CQC, HMRC, the Home Office, Local Authorities and the NHS, as well as holding a Cyber Essentials Plus certificate. This is an advanced UK government-backed cybersecurity certification that verifies your organisation’s implementation of key security controls through independent technical testing.

We recruit based on values, as the skills required are taught by our dedicated in-house trainers. We value our Teams, and we place a very high importance on training and communication. We invest heavily in this to ensure our care staff have the skills and knowledge to enable you to get the best out of your service. All our care teams receive the core induction training, and we can provide specialised training on more complex needs and equipment when required.

We have an obligation to provide you with care 365 days a year, and the ability to support you throughout the entirety of your Care Journey. Smaller, unregulated providers, or self-employed carers, are unable to provide you with the same assurances that we can, offering you complete peace of mind and a trusted reliable service.
