Lorna is our Operational Executive, bringing more than 37 years of experience in the health and social care sector. Lorna is passionate about supporting care teams, maintaining high standards, and ensuring positive outcomes for the people and communities served by the organisation. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, baking, and connecting with nature.

Sarah is the Business Development Manager and Registered Manager for two Candlelight Care branches. She is passionate about supporting staff, leading by example, and helping others reach their full potential. Sarah works to ensure Candlelight continues to grow while keeping clients and staff at the heart of every decision, delivering compassionate, high-quality care and support.

James joined his family’s business in 2014 after graduating from the University of Leeds with First-Class Honours in Business and Sustainability. Starting as a Care and Support Worker, he went on to establish his own live-in care company, which was later brought into Candlelight, where he led the service for five years. He subsequently became Managing Director, guiding Candlelight through a period of growth, new contract awards, service development and relocation.
Now Chairman and Director, James helps shape Candlelight’s strategic direction, with a strong focus on quality, delivery, direction and empowering people across the business. He is also passionate about helping to shape the future of social care by building meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships across the sector.
A keen rugby player, although he has taken a step back for family duties, James enjoys almost any hobby involving physical activity or power tools. His personal challenges have included completing the Edinburgh Marathon and cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in just seven days.

Cherry founded Candlelight Care in 1988 with her best friend, Annie, starting the business around a kitchen table in Butleigh, Somerset. As Candlelight became established, changes to the way that local authority funded care was commissioned in the early 1990s created an opportunity for the company to grow and extend its support to more people and communities.
Following the death of her husband, Cherry stepped into the role of Chief Executive while managing the business and raising two young boys. This period helped shape the formidable, passionate and creative person she is today. Although she later stepped back from day-to-day responsibilities when James became Managing Director, Cherry remains closely engaged with Candlelight and deeply passionate about the services it provides, its place within the community and the difference the incredible team makes to people’s lives every day.
Outside Candlelight, Cherry is a keen walker, swimmer and explorer, provided the adventure does not involve camping.

Roxy oversees Candlelight Care’s branding and marketing across the company, while also supporting our branches with their recruitment needs and helping to attract talented care and support staff to provide exceptional care in clients’ own homes.

Always looking for new ways to raise Candlelight Care’s profile, Roxy actively explores innovative marketing and advertising opportunities that help us connect with local communities and reach the right people by raising awareness of our services and showcasing the people and values behind the Candlelight name.

From promoting vacancies across job boards, social media and other platforms to attending recruitment and business events, Roxy plays an important role in strengthening our recruitment approach and finding new ways to attract and engage future members of the Candlelight team.

With a focus on creativity, communication and continuous improvement, Roxy is passionate about finding new ways to tell the Candlelight story, strengthen our brand and help the company continue to grow.

Rachel has been with Candlelight since 2020.  Initially in a Finance role, her responsibilities expanded to include Support functions including overseeing the Company vehicle fleet, property and office portfolio.  She enjoys tackling challenges, finding practical solutions and helping where she can. Rachel thrives on the variety of her role.

Eddy joined Candlelight in October 2025 and oversees the company’s payroll function. He plays a key role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, while supporting the ongoing development of our systems and processes to provide an efficient and reliable service. Eddy also ensures accurate financial data is maintained to support the wider business.
