Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

What is Multiple Sclerosis?

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a lifelong condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. It occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering around nerves, disrupting messages travelling between the brain and the rest of the body.

MS affects everyone differently, with some people experiencing periods of relapse followed by recovery, and others finding symptoms gradually worsen. Although there is currently no cure, treatment, rehabilitation and the right care can help people manage their symptoms and continue living active, fulfilling lives.
