Spinal Cord Injury

What is a spinal cord injury?

A spinal cord injury occurs when damage to the spinal cord affects the messages travelling between the brain and the rest of the body. Depending on where the injury occurs and how severe it is, it can affect movement, sensation and the function of different parts of the body.

Every spinal cord injury is different. With the right care, equipment and support, many people continue to live active, independent and fulfilling lives. Our carers receive training in safe moving and handling techniques and work with your existing care plan and specialist equipment.
